I Want It All
"I have a competition in me. I want no one else to succeed."
In "I Want It All," the Kamiak Show Band takes on an iconic theme inspired by the movie "There Will Be Blood."
Brought to life is a narrative set in the early 1900's, a story of oil and how one's obsession with it can be destructive. The show opens with a display of an industrious landscape with an oil derrick on the horizon. You will hear familiar music threaded throughout the show, some of redemption and hope, others of death and destruction. Slowly, throughout the show each section is consumed by the desire to have it all: first the battery and the guard soloist, then the brass, the woodwinds, and ultimately the color guard at the end.
"I have a competition in me. I want no one else to succeed. I hate most people, and I see the worst in them. They stand in the way of getting all I need. You see, I am an oil miner... and I will stop at nothing to have it all."
